Albarez/Contender/Latus II Stamm 730B Born April 2010

We are excited to announce the arrival of Caledonia FCF on April 18, 2010! Caledonia FCF ("Cali") is by the exciting young stallion Albarez out of our Contender mare Skye. Sadly, we lost Skye to colic at the end of June 2010 when Cali was only 2.5 months old. Luckily, Cali's strong, independent character and her people-loving attitude helped her pull through. She has adjusted well to bonding with Annabel, the official babysitter at weaning time, and spending more time with our other 2010 foal born just one day apart.
Albarez is a very promising young stallion (Alcatraz/Loutano/Fernando, stamm 95) successfully competing in the jumper ring. See more information at www.royalcstud.com

Cali is extremely bold and the friendliest foal I have ever seen! She is already exhibiting her jumper talent - she loves to jump in and out over the 6-inch lip between her stall and attached paddock. She has a powerful, energetic canter and loves to run laps around her mom in the pasture. Cali is destined to be a great success in the jumper ring!
You may notice in the pictures below that Cali capped her left elbow - a result of playing a little too hard before she fully figured out her legs as a newborn! Luckily it is purely a cosmetic issue and has caused her absolutely no problems and has not slowed her down a bit. The swelling is gradually going down and we expect it to subside completely in another month or two.
Sadly, we lost Cali's dam to colic when Cali was only a few months old. We are considering keeping Cali to take her dam's place in the breeding shed.
